Please note that sometimes a doula is on a leave of absence, or has a small child of her own that she will need to bring with her. These things are always noted at the end of her listing, so please read the listings carefully to be sure that you are comfortable with the doula you choose.
Often our doulas will incur expenses for travel or childcare when they come to attend on you. If you are able, we encourage you to offer reimbursement in some form.
Also, if you live near a state border, you might try checking the listings for that neighboring state as the nearest doula may be across a state line! If you are unable to find a local doula, visit our distance doula page to find support via phone, email, or instant messaging.
